Oh yes, it's no lie. I LOVE Shutterfly!

What else do I love just as much as Shutterfly? Getting Holiday cards in the mail! I love when December rolls around and Christmas cards are filling my mailbox each day. The photo cards are favorites because you can see how families and little ones change from year to year! It's a treat to connect with friends and family who we might not see that much throughout the year, but still hold a special place in our heart!

November has rolled around and the family photos are done. Now, it's time to start finding the perfect Christmas card to send out to our family and friends. What better place to start, Shutterfly of course!

Hello, long lost blog reader (s), I'm back! I'm not even sure that anyone has missed me since I last posted in summer. Where have I been? Balancing motherhood and marriage with full-time teaching and all the other jobs that never cease to disappear (cleaning, laundry, meals, shopping). Of course, add in family and friends and that makes for one absent blogger. We'll see how things go.

We are weeks away from my baby girl turning 1!! I cannot believe it. This little girl is the light of my life and the past year has been the best in my life :).

Here's a picture of my little moo cow wondering what that big pumpkin is doing next to her!

Onto making a plan for a few more blog posts in the next month!

Looks who's on Shelley's main page?! Those fingers were so her when she was starting to get some teeth.

My friend, Laurie, had Owen's 2 year pictures taken with Shelley last summer. Laurie e-mailed me that Shelley was looking for a 6 mo. old girl to model some headbands and hats for Posh Place. Shelley was now their official photographer!

We went down in June to Northeast Minneapolis to help Shelley with the shoot. Addie did great with all the headbands and hats. So darn cute!

Well, hello! Almost a week after I was supposed to have this post done for you, it's ready to go! To say we've been busy lately is an understatement. Lots of fun things, but enjoying the day at home today getting caught up on projects and sleep for Miss Addie!

I've only been at this Mommy gig for 8 months, but have found a few things that I love and a few of Addie's favorites too!

Key Fob by Maggie Moo's Mom. I cannot tell you what a wonderful thing this KEY FOB is!! Easily accessible from purse or diaper bag, plus it fits around my wrist so I don't lock the keys in while getting Addie out of the car. I've given so many of these away as gifts for people and they are a huge hit. You don't even have to be a Mommy to enjoy one of these. I also had Allison make me a lanyard for school, which I love too. She has over 100 fabric choices to choose from.

Minky Chenille Blankee by Bebe Bella Designs. Addie got one of these as a gift from the Cizadlo's when she was born and it's been the best thing. I bought a second one of the same colors so we always have one available while the other is in the wash. Addie loves snuggling up with her blankee. I was lucky enough to get the adult throw for my birthday from my parents. I love snuggling in my blankets and this one is the BEST by far! Sign up for the e-mail and you get $15 off your order. A Blankee will be down to $7.50 plus shipping which brings it to 50% off . Another favorite of mine to give to new babies!

Diapees & Wipees These days we don't seem to need as much in the diaper bag and I can throw this into my purse or car. Diapers and wipes easily accessible and in fabric designs too! I got mine at Von Maur, but I think Creative Kidstuff carries them too.

Carters PJ's There's something so darn cute about Addie in pj's. Carters has adorable lines and and they wash up so nice. I love all of Carters things, but PJ's are my favorite! Love the footed jammies :) And yes, she'll be sporting these adorable elephant jammies this winter (owls are my #1,but elephants are a VERY close 2nd!) thanks to our shopping trip with Grandma Jane, MJ, and Teddy yesterday afternoon!

Froggy Bouncer Addie loves her Froggy, although she's on the move these days and sees other things she wants to get to. It's not as big as the exersaucers, but still gives the same effects!

Sandra Boynton books We love reading all these books to Addie (and I think we have almost all of them!!). She's a big fan of Moo, Baa, La La La while my favorite these days is Belly Button Book.

Mommy Hook This rides on A's stroller and is great for all those shopping bags and even my key fob! My purse can go in the basket and this is the spot for all my finds. A definite must-have!

I know there are so many other favorites I have, but I'll start here. What are your Mommy Must-haves?

My friend, Laurie, and I were discussing our blogs and how to keep up with them while making it fun for us. So...this week, we bring you OUR FAVORITES!

Today's theme is COUPONING/$$ SAVING sites. Yes, it's become an addiction for me! It's hard for me to pay full price for anything, whether it's out a restaurant or shopping at a store. There are some great sites out there for finding the best deals that are SOME of my favorites.

HIP TO SAVE

Collin has EVERYTHING on this site from coupons to giveaways to sale alerts. This is my go-to site for all deals.

TOTALLY TARGET

A site just for Target deals (there are other deals too)? This is AMAZING! Kudos for all the deals and sale alerts on here. You can even get a preview of the items on sale, usually on Friday or Saturday of the week prior. Plus, head to Target's site and scroll to the bottom to COUPONS. There are some great clothing ones listed and when paired with clearance items, these make for phenomenal deals!!

POCKET YOUR DOLLARS

Carrie Rocha is a local MN woman who has many similar deals to Hip 2 Save. An added bonus with PYD is she lists local events and deals for Minnesotans. Plus, Carrie shares how she got her family out of debt by cutting coupons and using deals.

MOMMYSAVERS

Another local Minnesotan, Kim comes from Mankato with her Mommysavers website. This is a website forum that people post deals/coupons they find. Lots of great kids deals and ideas, not just for the Mommys out there!

I ♥ CVS

Do you have your Extra Care card from CVS? If not, you must go out and get one--it's free! I love shopping at CVS and have gotten many Extra Care Bucks back on fabulous deals. This site links all kinds of deals to be had at CVS. Heading out for a shopping trip to CVS, head here first to make sure you are getting the best deals possible.

I ♥ WAGS

Just like CVS, there is a "sister" site for Walgreens. Lots of fantastic deals and extra coupons to be had at this site. Stock up on those Register Rewards.

*New to couponing? Check out Collin's site COUPONING 101. Trust me, you can really save lots of money with just being aware of the deals out there!

*Have family members or friends save coupons that you need and vice versa, give coupons to others. You can check the Sunday preview site to see what the week's coupons will be. If you see there will be some key coupons you are interested in, go buy the Early Saturday editions of the paper (I get the STar & Trib) with the coupons in them. You'll only pay 50 cents versus, the full price on Sunday which I think is over $2. Still saving you lots more money in the long run!

*Start a Coupon Club with friends who share your $$ saving ways. Trust me, it's lots of fun! Right, girls??!! Catch up on cutting out and organizing coupons or just take time to go shopping for some bargain deals. Add some delicious food and tasty drinks, makes for a fun evening!

*All these sites listed above have fan pages on Facebook where they update all the deals. Otherwise, I put these on my iGoogle/Google Reader page to see the updates.

These months are flying by and we're loving every minute with her!

At 7 months, Miss Addie:

*is going on the MOVE! She moves from sitting up to rocking on all fours. She hasn't figured out how to go, so she'll eventually fall to her belly and flap her arms and legs hoping she gets somewhere. Backwards is the way to travel these days, although it's no fun when what you want keeps getting farther and farther away!

*has decided that eating food ISN't all that bad! Fruits are her favorites, but also enjoys the orange veggies. The jury is still out on Puffs.

*sits like a big girl in the cart or high chair when out and about. She LOVES looking at everyone and usually gets lots of attention with her personality

*is talking so much--dadadadada and "hi da" are the popular ones. No "ma" anywhere in vocab, although during our days home I'm working on it.

*along with her talking, she's discovered it's a way to let us know what she's thinking and not always happy with riding in the car seat. She knows she's missing out on things. Overall, she's still a great car rider.

*has the cutest rubber band baby rolls. Can't get enough of them!!

*loves to play the piano and with her ball popper, and yes, she's determined to get these in her mouth

*enjoys music class on Tuesday mornings with Sherrie and all her little friends. We love singing our songs!!

loves to "pat-pat" everything

*is changing so much and such a sweet girl. We are so lucky!

Can you tell someone is a fan of her Daddy? Thank goodness he was around to get some smiles! Plus, look how small Teddy is looking these days!

Better late than never, huh?

At 6 months, Miss Addie:

*weighs 17lb. 6 oz.

*sits up on her own, with a little tippsiness every once in awhile

*doesn't seem to be a big fan of cereal

*chews anything she can get her mouth on (still patiently waiting for those teeth)

*loves to go on walks and be outside

*is very social and loves to smile at everyone

*still sleeps like a champ at night, but prefers cat naps during the day (she might be missing out on something)

*squaking all the time and "chatting" more these days

(pics aren't that great this time--lots of rainy, cloudy days that didn't give us good natural light!)

As you can see from the pictures, 5 months is a great thing! Addie is so happy and loves everyone she's around. It's been a fun month with all her changes.

At 5 months, Addie:

*Rolled over for the first time and has only done it one other time

*Loves to have 3 fingers in her mouth most of the time--still waiting on those teeth!

*Giggles all the time. Who knew we'd be so humored with this little one?

*Loves to look at books. Ok, loves to turn the pages at rapid speeds challenging us to get some kind of information in from each page

*Loves to listen to music and dance around

*Sleeps 10 hours a night--bless you little one!

*Loves to spend her days with Grandma & Grandpa and Auntie MJ while Mommy and Daddy are at work!

Jeff took off work on Friday so the three of us headed over to Como Park for a picnic and visit to see the animals. Addie did great and had lots of fun traveling in her Baby Bjorn. She's a big fan of being able to see everything these days so this mode of transportation was perfect! The flowers at the Conservatory were beautiful too. We can't wait to go back!

I've had such a wonderful time home with Addie over my spring break. It's hard to think I have to go back to work, but summer is just around the corner! Here are some of the things we were up to:

We went to see the Easter Bunny and Addie really liked him! This might be the only year without tears :)

The Easter Bunny gave us a coupon for Build-a-Bear so Addie got a bunny for Easter. Jeff decided to name him Carlos, the bunny!

The Easter Bunny came with lots of goodies for Addie's 1st Easter! Her favorites were the links :) Anything she can put into her mouth is a plus!

Baseball season started! GO TWINS. Addie loves watching the Twins with her Daddy!

Addie also decided to roll over, but once we got out the video camera it was all done. No performing for the camera. Hopefully we'll capture it soon!

Since Addie will soon be 5 months old, I decided I best get her 4 month post up!

At 4 months, Addie:

*weighed 14 lb. 9 oz and was 24 3/4 inches long at her 4 mo. check-up. She's now equally balanced at the 75% in height, weight, and head size. 'Atta girl!

*is drooling all the time and loves to put things in her mouth. Links are the toy of choice otherwise, knuckles work too! Is there a tooth coming soon?

*continues to sleep through the night and has to be woken up on work days :(

*loves to be facing out and see what everyone is doing

*is close to rolling over onto her tummy

*has the cutest giggle and makes us laugh all the time

*falls asleep on her stroller rides. We love this spring weather!

*is such a good baby. We are so blessed!

For those of you who know me, I love be organized in all areas of my life (ok, well most of them :) ). My iGoogle page helps me stay organized on the computer. It's my main site for navigation with keeping up-to-date on my blogs, coupon deals, Facebook, e-mail, weather, and celebrity gossip!

On my Google Reader, I link all the blogs I love to read and it lists when someone has a new post. This way I don't have to spend all my time going to each site; it keeps me current.

I've also set up RSS feeds for my favorite coupon sites that I linked right to my iGoogle page instead of Google Reader. It can list up to 9 posts for each section I have.

Once in iGoogle, you can put all kinds of gadgets on your page. I have People Magazine, local weather, my Facebook account, and gmail right all on my page. It's WONDERFUL!

If you need a little organizing and want to maximize your time on the computer, get an iGoogle page now! Also, if you find any other fun gadgets, let me know :)

This sweet baby girl is already 3 months old! It's hard to believe how much she's changed and all she's learned in just three shorts months of life. At 3 months, Addie :

*Is sleeping 8-10 hours at night (can I hear a woot-woot!!)

*Is full of smiles when we go in to get her in the morning. I love this time!

*Stares at her fist and fingers wondering what these things are. She'll try to get her fist up to her mouth, but takes a few attempts. It's sure cute to watch!

*Is so happy to see her Daddy when he comes home.

*Loves to "talk" to whoever will listen. If we're lucky, things are really funny and we'll get a few giggles.

*Is a windmill with her arms and legs. She can get movin!

*Is the hit of the parties. She's visited school, my classroom, and Jeff's office. Who knew someone so little could draw so much attention?!

*Travels well in the car and will usually snooze on the rides.

We are so blessed with such a wonderful and happy baby!

Miss Addie is already two months! Time does fly by and she changes each day. Here's a two month update:

*Weighed 10lb. 3 oz at her two month check. Still a peanut; only in the 30%tile for weight and height.
*Is 22 inches long. She's a tall and skinny one!
*Sleeping 6-8 hour stretches at night, feeds, and then back to sleep for another 2-3.
*Loves to nap in her swing. 3-4 hours at a time!!
*Is more busy with her hands and moves them all over the place
*Finds her thumb every once in a while
*Is so smiley, especially after she gets lots of sleep!
*Starting to grab for her toys and especially loves Mr. Banana Man on her jungle mat
*Loves when I sing to her. Old MacDonald is a favorite and she'll even "cooo" along
*Continues to love bath time. I think we've got a "spa" girl on our hands.

1 Month

I cannot believe that my baby is already 1 month old! For my showers, I was given two sets of monthly onsies and teddy bears to capture her first year with. Here's month one's photo shoot. We had to do two different times since the first attempt was when Addie needed some food and didn't want much to do with the photos! The 2nd shoot was at night when we didn't have any of the natural lighting. Oh well, I'll get to perfect these in the coming months.

At 1 month, Addie:

*is up to 7lb. 15 oz. and 21 inches long. She finally made it back up to her birth weight, plus a little more

*loves her baths

*nurses and supplements with formula

*is very observant and loves to look around

*has found her hands

*is starting to smile, especially at her Daddy

*will sleep for 3-5 hours at a time during the night

*is the center of our worlds and we couldn't be happier

Here are some pics of the baby's nursery to date. At this point, I need to wait to see if it's a boy or girl to add more of the personalized details to the room. Jeff even got in for a belly picture too! Just one more month to go until Baby H arrives. We can't wait!
And one of our little family of 3 pumpkins that Jeff said I needed a picture by. We can't wait for next fall when we take take the peanut along to pick out pumpkins and get dressed up for Halloween!

We've been so blessed to have baby showers thrown in our honor and for Baby H! We truly have the best friends in the world and are so blessed to know so many wonderful people.

My first shower was thrown by Lauren and Liz for some friends from work. It was a lovely Sunday brunch, with some competitive Jeopardy going on, and lots of fun gifts for the wee one!

Next, it was a couples shower/Vikings game at Kelly and Tim's House thrown by Kelly, Michelle, and Missy. The guys did make it up at halftime for the gifts, but quickly ventured back down to watch the Vikings vs. 49er's. It was an amazing finish--Go Favre!

Kelly hosted some of the Bennies over for another shower. Lauren and Keira were the girls of honor and Lauren was such a good helper. Here Baby H received a huge set of Wooden Baby Hangers in honor of it's Daddy's need for wooden hangers. He's just a tad bit excited to start filling the baby's closet!

Thank you to everyone for your generosity! We have a couple more before baby comes, which isn't too far away. Six more weeks til due date!

Last Friday night, I went to the Crop-Around-Town sponsored by KI Memories at the Apple Valley Archivers. KI Memories is probably one of my favorite scrapbook companies and I was thrilled to be able to attend their Crop with Kelly, Michelle, and Missy!

To make the night even more memorable, I was the Grand Prize winner! I won this basket filled with everything from the new lines, Heirloom and Flourish. WOW!! I can't believe I won. It was such a fun night meeting Shannon Tidwell too.

Most of you who know me, know that I love to be organized! Thanks to Erin Condren, I'm not only organized but pretty stylish doing so. I just ordered my Life Planner and Jumbo Family calendar. This is my little splurge each year to make sure I'm on top of all my plans. The thing I love about this planner is that it has spots for morning, afternoon, and evening plus lists for weekly goals and to-dos.

Four friends from work have jumped on board and ordered one too. Will you join me this year?!!

Dear Baby,

It was a big morning for Mommy as she felt you kick for the first time! Although, we might have to work on this timing a little bit as it was at 5:45 this morning. Daddy says you're going to be an early bird just like him. I foresee many mornings with you two hanging out, reading the paper and getting your daily sports report on Sports Center.

For now, it will be Mommy up with Daddy while he gets ready for work. Silly me thought I had to go to the bathroom 3 times in 10 minutes this morning, but instead you were nestled right on top of my bladder letting me know you were ready to start the day.

Well, here we go! I've never had a wake-up call this exciting and I can't wait for what's to come. Four more months from today and it will be your anticipated "birth-day"!

{21 weeks}

I'm 1/2 way done with this pregnancy and can't believe how quickly the time has passed! I'm not so sure the second half will be as smooth as the first, but a mom can hope, huh?? Since I've neglected this blog while I've been enjoying my summer I thought I'd catch you up with 21 random thoughts of the pregnancy up to now!

1. Saturday, March 21st,2009 was the day I took my pregnancy test and found out I was pregnant. I couldn't sleep that night so I was up at 5:00 taking the test, in awe of the + sign when it appeared. I don't think Jeff or I will ever forget that day!

2. I went to Target as soon as it opened to gather up some pregnancy books as I told myself I couldn't buy any until I was actually pregnant. Don't worry I knew exactly which aisle to go to as I had passed by them a few times before!

3. That night we went down to visit the Roche's and new baby Aiden. That was the beginning of new ideas of why I wouldn't need a drink--fun stuff trying to lie!! I also remember holding Aiden thinking a little person sized like this will be crunched up inside of me and need to come out sometime. Lots of baby thoughts that night!

4. That week after, I developed the stomach flu or some kind of food poisoning that wiped me out! I had one of the worst cases of the stomach flu I had ever had thinking "oh no, morning sickness already? I won't survive the next 36 weeks!" Thankfully it passed and I've been blessed with no morning sickness!

5. In the beginning, I did experience nausea but I never got sick from it. I felt achy all over and just never knew what would set me off. Sleep got me through and actually most of my first trimester. I would get home from school, take an hour to hour and a half nap, eat dinner, go for our walk, and be back asleep in bed by 8 or 8:30.

6. Our first doctor appointment to confirm we were actually pregnant wasn't until April 21.

7. From the blood work at that first point, we found out a few weeks later that my blood sugar levels were elevated. Diabetes runs in my family so they tested for that the first day.

8. May 5 was my first appointment with the endocrinologist, dietitian, and nurse to get me started with my Gestational Diabetes plan. Each day, I test my blood four times a day and make sure I'm following my carb plan. It was a tough thing to get used to at first, but now I'm an old pro and know that I'm hopefully doing what's best for baby. I've had 6 appointments since then to make sure everything is going as it should and now only have an appointment with the endocrinologist once a month until Baby arrives.

9. I look forward to my weekly pregnancy updates from The Bump and Baby Center. Each Friday, I know I can read up on what my baby is up to and the latest changes to its development.

10. I've also been spending time reading What to Expect When You're Expecting, Pregnancy Countdown, Happiest Baby on the Block, and Your Pregnancy Week by Week.

11. We've also started reading books to the baby. Sandra Boyton are some of my favorites, with Moo Baa La La La being at the top of the list. I can't wait for snuggle time reading to my baby. There are so many great kids books out there to choose from!

12. This baby has already taken trips to New York City, Duluth & Grand Marais, and Brainerd. We hope to enjoys our travels together just as much once baby arrives although we know they will definitely be different! It's also spent many visits with its soon-to-be little friends and family who are very excited to meet Baby!

13. I told my class of 2nd graders that I was expecting the last week of school. I read the book Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes to them. It's about a little girl named Chrysanthemum who doesn't like her long name and gets teased in school. Her pregnant music teacher loves her name and at the end of the book names her little baby girl Chrysanthemum. At the end of the book, I asked the kids why I choose this one to read to them. It took about 5 guesses, but JT said that it's because I want to have a baby someday. After I told them, then it was asking what I would name it and suggestions they had. The only thing I did tell them was that Chrysanthemum wasn't in the running!

14. I'm finding the cutest and cheapest maternity clothes at Gap, Old Navy, and Target. Thankfully I can spend most of my summer days in t-shirts and shorts. I'm amazed how pricey the maternity clothes can be! Elastic has become my friend.

15. This baby is already spoiled with gifts from friends and family. It has it's own duckie like it's mom got when she was born, a MN Twins bib, baby's photo album, rattles,books, and some duckie sleepwear.

16. We are leaving it a surprise for whether Baby H will be a boy or a girl!

17. July 14th, Baby had it's first pictures taken at our ultrasound. As the scrapper, it was a proud moment for this mommy! I think it made things a little more real for Jeff to see his baby moving around in there. It was a relief to know the baby was measuring where it should be and everything seemed to be developing as it should be. Technology is amazing to be able to see all we saw. It was such a neat experience for the both of us!

18. My leave from school has been approved and if baby comes on time, I'll be taking about 12 weeks off to be home with my baby. It will be hard giving up control of my classroom, but I'm sure once it comes I won't have any troubles being gone at all!

19. We're starting to purchase the bigger items for Baby. We got the stroller/car seat travel system ready to go and I think it's nursery furniture shopping set for this weekend! We've looked at various places and now it's time to make the purchase.

20. With having our house on the market and not knowing where we'll be, I'm holding off on nursery decor. I think my latest plan is to wait until baby comes to make a purchase. I'm finding that a lot of neutral sets lend themselves to a more boyish look. If anyone has any recommendations, let me know!

21. Finally, I couldn't leave this post without a picture of my Baby!

Yesterday was my niece's high school graduation party. It was a tough day for me as we did not go to the party. My nephew had the H1N1/Swine Flu (lucky Teddy!) and it was my doctor's recommendation to stay away as a precaution. Teddy was off his medicine and done with his incubation period, however, since pregnant people are in the high risk category I was advised to stay away for safety of myself and the baby.

Ughhh, it was the hardest thing I had to do. Let alone my emotions tend to be a bit heightened already, this just added to it. We went out of the boat to try to put it out of my mind, but tears happened there too! I had asked what time it was at one time and Jeff said it was 2:05. Well, that was too much for me as the party started at 2:00. Yikes, nothing like a little hot sweat and tears combo!!

Molly was sweet enough to do a blog post in our honor to give us a virtual tour of the day. They did a great job with the decorations and she's a girl after my own heart! Of course, her new hair cut is adorable and she looks so grown up. Molly left for the Boundary Waters today so we're going to plan a get together when she gets back to hear more about it.

Molly's off to St. Ben's and I couldn't be happier! Uncle Jeff tried hard to push Gustavus, but that didn't work out so well. She's going to do great and we are so proud of you Molly!

We are thrilled to be expecting our first baby on November 27th. I've been a little MIA with this whole blog thing. I think I slept through the first trimester and finally have the energy back to regain my normal routine. Now that school is done with I'll have some more time to keep this up-to-date.

Since I missed posting about Mom on her birthday (April 19th, yeah I know it's been awhile) I thought I would take today to honor my mom.

My mom had me when she was 40 years old. She was raising teenagers when I came into the family needing to start all over with the baby stage. My mom made the transition gracefully and now almost 32 years later is still embracing her role as mom and grandma!

I'm so lucky to have my mom in my life! She's always there for anything and looks forward to our conversations, as do I! Love you, Mom!

That's how life is right now. I've thought about blogging, but don't have anything that exciting.

*Ready for spring to stay. We've had some nice days that have allowed us to get out on our walks, but today it's cold and snowing. Nothing that's accumulating, but still...it's snowing.

*Spring break is almost here. Can't wait for a break!! After that, just two months to go. Working on grades and newsletter. See, life isn't that exciting for me?!!

*So glad Dancing with the Stars is back on. Tough to say, but I really like a lot of the contestants this season. Waiting patiently for Steve to get ousted. Although, not sad to see Denise leave. She's a whiner.

*Enjoying March Madness. In my pool, I'm at 70% for my picks, but still 4 points behind Jeff. Hoping for a strong finish. Go Pitt!

*Recovering from the stomach flu, which I think was food poisoning. I went to a baby shower on Sunday. Unfortunately, the mom-to-be and at least one other friend of mine all got sick on Tuesday. Not so fun, but I think it's done. Thank goodness, not hoping for anymore of that anytime soon.

Happy March!

Here are some things to update you with on what I call Sunday Seven:

*It's been a quiet weekend which I'm very thankful for! We met Jeff's parents for lunch yesterday and otherwise, it's just been hanging around the house. February was a busy month and so it's nice to enjoy an open schedule!

*Conferences are done with and only 3 more months of school! I'm looking forward to spring weather and being outside more. We have been grilling more, which makes me hopeful the warmer weather is around the corner!

*I'm a little sad that one of my favorite shows has come to an end for the season. Was sad to see Carla loose, but at least Stephan didn't win. Was very disappointed in how this show ended...good reason why I shouldn't ever spend a whole season watching. However, she is soooo cute and may be the reason I watch next season!

*I may be done with Bravo for the time being, but I'm moving back over to ABC for another favorite show. Even better news, check out who's taking Jewel and Nancy O'Dell's place! Go Melissa :) This is going to be a very fun season to watch!

*I'm so excited for some friends and their baby news! Kelly and Tim welcomed baby Aiden on Feb. 23. Amy and Chad are anticipating their little one's arrival in September! So happy for all of them!

*I went on a scrappin weekend in February and got started on my wedding album! I loved having the time to put these pages together and love how they turned out. Here are some of them.

*Finally, I've been spending more time on Facebook than on my blog--sorry about that! So, if you're on, find me over there and you can stay more up to date!

Yes, with the addition of DVR into our home, I've become addicted to a few more shows (specifically reality)than I usually am. Before DVR came to be, I always said that unless I could be home to watch a show, it wasn't for me. Well, I've changed a bit. Plus, by recording shows I can a)watch them whenever I choose and b)I can skip through the commercials and buy myself some more time to do other things.

I've never watched a full season of the Bachelor/Bachelorette until this season. Yes, I'm a sucker for this show. My pick to win it is Jillian. She's got a great personality, seems pretty mature and Jason REALLY likes her! I was thinking Melissa at the beginning of the season, but I think she's going home next week.

My other new favorite is Top Chef. I'd really like to see Carla win. At times she's been a little too quirky for me, but I've really grown to like her. However, I think Stefan has a good chance of winning it all. Last week's seafood show was a little too much for me, especially when they pulled the eels out--yuck!!

Sunday night we watched the "Big Game" at the Meline's house. The game was great and the commercials were even better. Plus, I won $30 in the pool by having the winning numbers of the 1st quarter and the final score--woohoo!!

I didn't know it has almost been a month since I last posted! So sorry about that. I have to say since getting on Facebook, I've neglected the blog. Not that I haven't thought about posting many a times, it's just that FB is much easier. I vow, to keep this updated, and not be such a stranger on Blogger!

Nothing too exciting here in the tundra, they call MN! Temps this week dipped down in the 30's BELOW ZERO--way too cold!! We're above zero and it feels like a heat wave. Summer, when are you coming?

Other highlights of the past month:

*We enjoyed wonderful Christmases with both of our families!

*A two-week break from school was spectacular, especially since Jeff was able to take some days off too.

*Celebrating the Cool Kids Christmas and scrapping with the girls!!

*My dad came up and painted most of our lower level for us. We decorated/spruced up the rooms. I'm really lovin' my house, even if it is "Up North!"

*Getting strep last weekend. Jeez, it's been a long time since I was knocked down that hard! Ughhh. That was more of a low light than highlight! :(

*Jeff and I went to our first Wild game of the season on the coldest night of the past five years. They won though!

I also wanted to thank all of you who voted for my niece Molly and the Box City Vigil! I'm THRILLED to report they were in the Top 15 and will be receiving a $10,000 grant to put toward their event. Way to go, Mol! Here's a video they put together about the Box City Vigil. My niece, Molly, is the last one to speak in a green shirt. It truly is amazing to see what the youth of this country are doing to make it a better place for so many people.

Since I couldn't have this long post without a picture of some sort, I'm posting a picture of Molly and I from my wedding day. Thinking happy thoughts of Mols and a warm summer day!

Yesterday was my Dad's birthday! I just wanted to acknowledge this great guy in my life!

He never missed a practice or game of mine while growing up (volleyball, softball, basketball). He's even made it to a few of my kickball games in the past few years. He inspires me to have a beautiful garden and tidy yard! He's the world's best painter and has painted many a rooms for all his kids. Latest project, my scrap room :). He taught me to play cards and how to beat the competition (I'm still working on him though). And, he genuinely cares about what's going on in my life each and every day. Love you, Dad!

Hi Everyone! I hope you are all enjoying the holiday season and snow!

As I think most of you know, I am on the committee for Box City Vigil, which is a group of 7 high schoolers that's goal is to raise awareness for youth homelessness in the Twin Cities. We put on an annual event at the Minnesota State Capitol where all of the roughly 250 participants spend the night in boxes on the front lawn to simulate a night in the streets. We lobby with the legislators and try to open their eyes to rising problem of youth homelessness. There are about 3,000 youth on the streets each night and 650 of them are unaccompanied. There are only around 60 beds in shelters for these homeless youth, so BCV is trying to get our legislature to allot more money to the building of shelters for them. Two years ago we were able to get the Runaway Homeless Youth Act passed, which gave an extra million dollars to building these shelters. We would love to be able to get more money given to them.

My main job on the committee this year is the Publicity and Marketing Coordinator. I applied for the a grant called @15 from Best Buy. It is a national grant, but we were named one of the 30 finalists! The top 15 will win $10,000 to help their cause. We will be able to make our event much more effective and help many more people with tihs money.So this is where you all come in! To be in the top 15 we need people to vote for us. There are two ways you can vote. One is online at www.genv.net/bestbuy and the other is the text BBYV6 to 32075.You can vote once each way everyday until January 9th.

Hello! I hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving. I know I sure did! It's hard to believe the long weekend is coming to an end. With December upon us tomorrow, I know I'm looking forward to many things this Christmas season!

*Getting Christmas cards in the mail. I love to rush home (will take a little longer this year) and see what cards we received. Our cards are here I just have to get them out, hopefully by the end of the week!

*Listening to Christmas music. I will now allow myself listen to the Christmas stations on Cool 108 and Lite FM 102.9. No matter how the day goes, this always seems to set one in a good mood!

*Wrapping presents and picking out the right gift for each person! After this weekend, we are doing pretty well. I just have some stocking stuff for Jeff. Why do I leave the toughest for last?

*Going to the Holidazzle sometime and maybe visit Rice Park.

*Watch holiday movies like Elf, The Holiday, Four Christmases (which we saw last night--good holiday cheer), and White Christmas.

*Decorate the Christmas tree and put up other decorations. We chopped down the tree yesterday and put it in the stand this afternoon. I think decorating will come tomorrow night! Here's proof we (actually Jeff) chopped down the tree at Goldenman's Farm!

Of this! I was lucky enough to have a meeting today, which didn't start until 8:30. After getting my flu shot, I thought I would venture to Target to see how the line was. Getting there at 7:47, the line was wrapped around the next building. Luckily, Kevin and Sara were in line toward the front and saw my drive by. They called and I hopped in line with them illegally (thanks!!), but got two CD's. On the long commute home, I was able to listen to them--very good songs! My current favorite is Rock & Roll on disc 2!

It's been four months since I've lived in this house and all I've really wanted is a room to create in!! Yes, my scrap room is in process. Earlier today, I cleared out the room and taped the baseboards and around the doors. Just returned from Home Depot with this lovely paint in hand--Sun Washed Blue! I wouldn't pay the full price for the RL paint, so the good people at HD mixed their magic and made me the same color in the BEHR brand.

Black and red will compliment the teal walls and I hope to find some polka-dots and maybe some owls for the finishing touches!

I'll post pictures once it's starting come together--can't wait for my scrappin oasis!!

For Halloween, my team and I went all out with our costumes this year! Since we teach 2nd grade, we really couldn't go with the revealing look, so we dressed up our school shirts and added some glamorous accessories!

Whew....five posts in one night! I've been told I have some catching up to do.

I've been busy baking Monster Cookies and Rolo Treats tonight. The great thing is that while the cookies are baking, I run downstairs and type another blog post.

8 dozen cookies completed (and that was the half batch), dishes done, and it's time for me to get ready for bed! Oh, and let's give a shout out to the Kitchen Aid Mixer. I'm in love with you!

Last night, Molly and Robby went to Homecoming and Jeff and I had the pleasure of being photographers! Molly asked if we could come and take photos with our big camera. Mary Jane and Dave went with our small camera (Molly was taking the family one to the dance) to take pictures of Robby and his group. We met up with them and Teddy for dinner at Snuffy's afterwards. Soon, Ted it will be your turn!!

Neither Jeff nor I experienced any of this while we were in high school, so it was all new to us! The kids were all gussied up and had a great time. They are getting so grown-up!

On Tuesday night, I went to Juut Salon with my former teammates and friends, Debbie and Jenny to pamper ourselves before conferences began. We received $20 coupons for being teachers, so Jenny and I got manicures and Debbie got a pedicure. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the staff and brought back to the waiting area. One of the workers, then brought each of us a book as a gift of gratitude for being teachers. The book is Life as a Daymaker by David Wagner and he is the owner of Juut Salons.

It's been my read each night since getting it. The message behind it is so powerful, yet so simple. You can find out more about the movement it's creating by visiting here. Basically, it's thinking about what you do each day to make someone's day.

There are people I know who are wrapped up in their own world and can't seem to look beyond and appreciate others. However, there are others out there who are DAYMAKERS!! I found this in my mailbox at school on Friday. There was no name on it, so I don't know who it was from. Finding this was definitely a DAYMAKER for me!! Just knowing that someone took time to make this and give it to me, put a huge smile on my face.

Here's something I put together for the nurses and aides at the hospital who took such good care of my mom while she was there. They took wonderful care of us as well and we knew she was in good hands if we couldn't be with her. I dropped this off a few days after she left and they were so appreciative! It was a funny coincidence that I got this book just a day later.

Baby Connor

Our good friends, Liz and Mike welcomed baby Connor on Friday afternoon! We were able to sneak over and meet him yesterday. He is such a sweet baby. And yes, Jeff even held him. Thanks Liz for making sure that happened!!

This is known as the "prednisone gift" as Jeff calls it! I've had Connor's gift ready for a few weeks since we knew he was going to be a boy. One of my nights while I was on the steroid for my bronchitis, I got a record amount of things done around the house. I took this leftover wrapping paper and ribbon from the wedding and decided to spruce the package by punching out circles to decorate. I loved how it turned out...and cheap too! Gotta love those scrapping scraps!

Yesterday, my parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary! They say it was a day much like yesterday, sunny and warm. It's hard to believe only being married for not quite 4 months, but 50 years?? What a testament of love and commitment.

We all went down to the rehab center and rented out one of the party rooms to celebrate. We ordered pizza and enjoyed each other's company. 50 years later....4 kids, 6 grandkids, two new hips for dad and 2 new knees for mom! Mom's making great progress and is cruising the halls with her walker. Hopefully the steps will come soon and she can get back home.

Where has time gone? Well, let's see:

*September brought the bronchitis that I think I'm finally over! The steroids and inhaler weren't working, so I finally got antibiotics that I finished today. Ughh!!

*My mom had double knee replacement surgery last Tuesday. Her knees are doing great, however, the pain meds or anesthesia has caused her to not know what's going on. She's been off the pain meds for a couple days, but she's still not herself. Friday night was the worst night, but things have gotten a little better. Still praying that "mom" will come back to us soon. At least yesterday she had Mary Jane, Molly and I rolling with laughter and she was joining in too!

*Today's the first day I haven't been at the hospital. With it being an hour away from home, I spent a couple nights at my parents house that is closer to work and hospital. Today's been laundry, cleaning, and getting things done around here. It feels good, but I also feel I should be with my mom :(.

*Last weekend, Jeff and I camped at Itasca State Park. We only made it one night since I don't think my bronchitis appreciated sleeping outside in the 40 degree temps. It was still beautiful in the park!! We walked across the headwaters of the Mississippi, went for some walks, and took pictures of the fall foliage.

*My newest craze is funky owls--Auntie, what do you think??!! Here are some pj's I got at Target! I also love these and these and I guess these too!! Here is a little owl love on Etsy. Look at all the OWL stuff you can find on Etsy. I could spend all day on ETSY!!

*School's been busy too, but I'm really liking my class of kids and parents this year. Conferences are at the end of the week, so I'm getting stuff ready for that. Looking forward to MEA break in a few weeks too!

I'm not sure how much I'll have time to blog in the next week with being at the hospital and conferences, but hopefully next weekend! Still waiting for Baby Meyers arrival too!

I know, September isn't over yet, and I'm posting about Christmas cards. I wanted to pass on the link for who made our cards last year. Elise from Custom Created Cards does a wonderful job designing cards just to your liking. She is so great to work with and is very reasonably priced for the work she does and how they turn out!

Here are the Christmas cards she has designed. Check out #13! It's our card from last year with the names switched. I saw a similar design in the baby girl section and she created this card to my liking! Since I haven't figured out how to design these on my own, Elise is the next best thing.

Yep. I've got bronchitis. After a long week of a hacking cough and conjested lungs, I decided to go to my doctor. Since it's viral, no antibiotics. Instead, I'm on a steriod and an inhaler--great, huh? Hoping it gets better soon and that I don't have too many side effects from the Prednizone. Resting the remainder of the weekend. Will be back later....

We've been experiencing some fall like temperatures this weekend and looking into this week as well--best weather possible in my book! Fall is my favorite season and I hope we can enjoy a long one before winter comes along.

The outside of the house has been getting some attention the past couple weekends. Jeff took out three horrific bushes in the corner of our yard and also a big one right in front of the house. It looks so much nicer. We decided to put three stepping stones in the place of the bushes and rock and we put down grass seed to fill in the area. Today we went to Costco and got three barrels of mums to put on the stones.

Also, remember this pot from mid-summer? It's grown into a beautiful collection of inpatients. Both of the pots have been thriving and are liking the cooler weather a little bit as well!

Today I started my 10th year of teaching! Hard to believe I've been out of college that long. I began another journey with a new group of 2nd graders. Year two of teaching 2nd grade and I think it will be a good year. I truly don't think it could get any worse than last year!! Don't miss Crazy Mom AT ALL!!!

To make my 100th post a great one and since I haven't been a good blogger as of late, I'm giving you my Top Ten of Summer 2008!

10. Going to Stillwater for the day on Friday. This is a late entry in Summer 08, but very fun nonetheless! We went into many shops, enjoyed a lunch outside on the river, and tasty some nummy treats at Trembley's Sweet Shop.

9. Winning the CSC sports Summer Kickball championship! We came back and won the championship in the bottom of the 7th inning--go Barker's Beauties!!

8. Boat Rides on some of the 10,000 lakes MN has to offer! Jeff and I went out yesterday to Lake Buffalo. No fishes for him, but I was able to soak in more of my book while enjoying a beautiful day on the water. Last weekend, some of the college friends went out on Lake Minnetonka on Kara's parents' boat. We enjoyed a Sunday brunch and a beautiful ride around the lake.

7. Getting our new car!! It's been good to use the first month as we've sure put on some miles cruising it all over the place.

4. Wiiiiiiiiiiiii--enjoyed playing our new games and becoming an official "gaming system" family! We got together with the Cool Kids for a game night a few weeks back. Dancing with the Stars became a crowd favorite!

3. Celebrating Jeff and my birthdays--we went to a Twin's game for my birthday and mini-golfing for Jeff's. We both received many wonderful gifts and cards from family and friends. Getting old isn't too bad!!!

2. Honeymooning in Antigua--pure relaxation in one of the most beautiful places on the earth! Wow, what a tropical getaway for the both of us. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Antigua and there are many times I wish I was back there!

That's the victory score from our kickball game last night! We are headed to the championship game next week after winning it in the bottom of the seventh inning last night.

Here's a little background on the game:

*We were shorthanded last night. Usually you play with 10 people in the field. The first inning we played with 6 (only a solo homer over Adam's head for runs that inning) and the rest of the innings we had 8 players.

*The team we played was EXTREMELY intense and shooting off inappropriate comments. All the teams we've played thus far have been really fun and nice people. Not tonight.

* I was switched from shortshop to 1st base for the game, so I had the pleasure of listening to their snide comments from their bench on the 1st base side. Whew, no pinkie injuries this time. Here's what happened when I played first last summer!

It's the bottom of the 7th inning and the first three people up are Laura, Nate, and me. Laura and Nate both get on with kicks to center and right that they should have caught. Now it's my turn at the plate. They learned pretty quick that I'm a lefty so they shift to the right side. I drill the ball right over the pitcher and it deflects off the tips of his fingers. The 2nd baseman is unable to catch the ball off the deflection and is bobbling the ball. Nate arrives safely to 2nd while Laura is heading to 3rd. The 3rd base coach, my hubby, aggressively waves her home with no throw even being made. WAHOO--we beat those turkeys in the last inning of the game.

Not that I'm competitive at all, but it's sure fun to beat the hotshots, especially playing shorthanded all game long. Onto the championship next week.........

Hello! Yes, I am still here! I'm just enjoying my days of summer and not blogging with too much of late. The big news is that I got my post-wedding chop! I was tired of my long hair and had Sharon, my stylist, give me a new look last Thursday. I couldn't believe all she cut, but I love how it turned out! Here are some pictures with my new cut that were taken at Elizabeth and Jason's wedding yesterday. Congrats to the newlyweds! It was fun being the guests instead of the main attractions.

We're heading over to the Hilton's to meet the twins this afternoon! Can't wait to see how big they are getting. Enjoy your week!

have a new car! My little civic took some road debris on Wednesday and here I am with a new car. We were thinking of trading it in this fall after 114,000 terrific miles together, but since the repair was about $2000 we traded it in for an Accord. I love our new ride!!

have flowers at our house! We went to Bachmann's yesterday to use part of a gift card I had received for my birthday. Now's the time to make a purchase of flowers as everything is being clearanced out for the season! Otherwise, yikes that stuff is expensive. You know I love a good deal! I might need to get a few more things to fill in the pots. Otherwise, I'll wait til it's mum season!

got a Wii!! Yes, today we saw them listed in the Target ad this morning. We took our gift cards and headed over. Lucky for us, they had lots left! We also got Wii Play, Mario Kart, and Trophy Buck Hunters (guess who that belongs to!!). Jeff has never had video game systems before so I didn't know how he would take to it........well, I'll let the pictures tell you the story! Not sure I'm going to be seeing my hubby any time soon!! DISCLAIMER: to get best results you must have your tongue out while playing the Wii and not be the least bit distracted while the wife is taking pictures. Oh, and you might need a shower and change of clothes if you get sweaty from the first few hours!

I cannot believe that my niece Molly is going to be a senior this year!! I was 14 years old when she was born and here she is all grown up!

Through my addiction to blog reading, I found her a Minnesota photographer with such a unique style to pass along as an option for her senior pictures. Molly got in contact with Robin and had her senior pictures taken (the above photo is one of Robin's!). Robin is an amazing photographer and captured Molly so beautifully! Married life is going well as we are adjusting to our surroundings and getting more things unpacked. It's been so nice having Jeff home to get some of these things taken care of and trying to update the house for selling.

Sunday night was spent with the Cool Kids--Hanson's and Rasmussen's. We enjoyed a delicious grilled meal, lots of funnies with the babes, and catching up. Jeff thought dinner time was like a Chinese Fire Drill getting all the kiddos ready to go!

Last night, we went over to the Sell's to enjoy a get together with them and the Meyers. We are so lucky to have such great friends to be with! Before hand, we loaded up another car full of gifts from my parents. They should be enjoying their home a little more with most of the gifts cleared out!! Thanks for letting us crash your abode the past few months with all of our goods!

I've got some random things to share/enable that I've been enjoying lately!

Becky's Recipe Blog -- I've made the Corn Salsa and Toffee Dips for the gatherings, which were pretty tasty! I wasn't too sure about the salsa at first, but I think next time I won't put as many black eyed peas in it. Last night I made Chocolate Delight Trifle in our new trifle bowl nonetheless! It's fun using all our new tools and gadgets!!

we were enjoying our wedding day! Hard to believe it's already over and we're moving on. It's been a great two weeks and we are enjoying our time as a married couple. This week we've been busy with getting Jeff's (now our house) spruced up a little bit. It's nice with Jeff's schedule being off this month to allow us to get things crossed off the lists. Adding a little woman's touch makes a world of a difference!! Things we've done so far:

*Put the new bedding in our room and guest rooms

*Window panels in the bedrooms and kitchen valance

*Organized the bathroom and kitchen--everything has a home and much easier to find

*Unpacked most of our new kitchenware and have been putting it to good use

*Got the washer fixed--needed a new

*Washed and put away new towels for bathrooms and kitchen

*Decorated the bathroom and kitchen

*New rug and mirror for entry way

We want to paint the living room and then hang more things on the wall, which we hope to work on next week. Otherwise, finding places for my stuff and cooking meals at home. We were both sick of eating out. With living so far apart and having such busy schedules, we didn't find the time to cook as much as we would have liked. It's fun using all our new stuff. I think tomorrow morning I'm baking some muffin tops--will explain later!! Let's hope they turn out :)

TO GET MARRIED!

Right now, I'm exhausted, but hoping that this afternoon will allow a little time for a nap. I've been running around (along with Jeff and my family) getting all things put together to make this wedding a wonderful event. So many people have helped put this together and I'm so grateful! The favors and programs were completed this weekend(special thanks to Auntie, Mom, Dad, and Kevin who helped us with these) and I LOVE how they turned out. A labor of love, but well worth it.

It's early Thursday morning and time for me to get some sleep. I just wanted to say hi and let you know wedding plans are all in order and now it's time to enjoy the celebration! I'll be on a blog break as we are begin our honeymoon on Sunday and both of us very much looking forward to lots of rest and relaxation!!

Can't wait for what my future holds..................:)

is about all that still exists at my place! Friday night and Saturday, we loaded the trailer and moved my stuff up to Jeff's house. My computer is still here with me and wedding stuff that I still need to work on, but otherwise everything is gone! It felt so good to get things packed and moved out of here. Just over a week left here and 11 days until the wedding! I think everything is going to get done so that we can enjoy our day.

Yesterday we celebrated Dad's Day with both of our dads. Happy Father's Day, Dad! Thanks for all you do; I appreciate it greatly! In honor of my dad, I'm posting some pictures of his garden that he so diligently works on. I just love their yard! I only hope I can get some of his green thumb to make my yard look so lovely!

We finally were able to get our engagement pictures from Camelot! Matt did a great job and we're happy with how they turned out.

Today was a very busy day for me and I got LOTS crossed off my list:

*Bought a unity candle and two taper candles

*Picked up the engagement pictures & printed some off with Archivers coupon

*Met with my florist to confirm the order

*Went to Anchor Paper to get program papers and supplies. Found all that I needed--love this place!

*Met with Amber to pick up my handmade jewelry. She did an amazing job to create jewelry for me and my bridesmaids.

*Worked out

*Made some phone calls

Whew, I'm tired! After a late night last night of typing my program and favor cards, I'm tired! Time for sleepies :)

for the summer! I enjoyed a great last day with my kiddos! Even though it was a rough start, I really did enjoy my class and they came together as a super class. I was lucky enough to get many gift cards to enjoy for a little shopping spree. If that Wii doesn't get to us as a wedding gift, we're now set with the gift cards to make that purchase plus all the tools and gadgets :)

Tomorrow is a work day and I'll just need to do a few things and turn in my keys! We're supposed to go on a boat ride tomorrow afternoon with the staff, but who knows how that will be with this rainy weather we've had.

Our engagement pictures should be in the mail on Saturday and the jewelry coming on Monday! With just three weeks to go, it's time to get going on the programs, table cards, and favors. It seems the days are filling up with meetings, lunches, packing & moving, and my birthday! I have a feeling June is going to fly by.......:)

with my group of 2nd graders! It still doesn't seem real that I've only got five more days of school. Seriously, this year has flown by although with Crazy Parents it's seemed like eternity at times! Although, all the crap I've dealt with that family, I received a forwarded e-mail from my principal this morning. One of my moms sent him an e-mail about the great experience her daughter's had in my class. Of course, it's printed out and in my teacher scrapbook. It made my YEAR!! With it being my first year in 2nd grade after 8 years in kindergarten, I was trying to constantly stay afloat and get used to this new curriculum. I'm looking forward to next year when I know what I'm doing and can change and spruce things up to my liking. Note to readers: when you child is in school, appreciate teachers (if they're worthy)! I can't tell you how much a quick e-mail or note sharing your appreciation of what they are doing means to them. You might even make it in their lifelong teacher book!!

Here's what else has been going on in my world:

*Speaking of my class, they threw a bridal shower for Jeff and I last week. The moms went all out decoration, food, games, and an adorable scrapbook. Each of the kids had to write about what love is and a piece of advice for us. One of my favorites was "always take your wife on vacation." Ahh, Matthew you're a brilliant kid!!

*We had a great time camping at Minneopa State Park. The weather was great and everyone was in good spirits. We walked down to the falls and grabbed some shots. I wish I would have brought the XTI with, but just brought Jeff's Sony. The skeeters were out though :(. Sunday night was a tough one for the itchies! I just love all that MN has to offer. The state parks are kept up so nice. We booked two nights up at Itasca for July.

*Monday night, we met our photographer Matt to get some engagement shots taken at the Lake Harriet Gardens. It was a little overcast, but hopefully we got some good ones.

*This week, we met with Anna the coordinator at the reception site, our DJ Tim, and I had my final dress fitting tonight. Lots of things to do, but we're plugging along and not getting stressed. It will all get done!

*Here's a picture of the groom's dinner invites that I made. I really like how they turned out!!

*We won a kickball game last night! I kicked well and made some good catches at shortstop.

Maybe we're just getting our groove on for tournament time. I am taking a 3-week hiatus before the wedding. I don't need any more injuries like the purple pinky from last summer! Ouch :)

*Got some cleaning and organizing done tonight. Tomorrow night I'm going to pack some tubs and take them to Jeff's house. I'm not a fan of this moving stuff, but it's got to get done!

*Guess what? Kelly Purkey left me a comment!! Kelly is a well-known scrapper and part of the Creative Team for Creating Keepsakes. How lucky am I? She makes amazing pages and is so cute. Luckily we pack up and leave Sunday morning so we still have part of the weekend to enjoy! Looking forward to S'mores, campfires, and having a relaxing weekend at another MN state park. Wahoo! Kristi and Mark won Dancing with the Stars tonight! They've had FANTASTIC dances the past two nights and were so energizing to watch. Kristi was my pick from the start! What will I do on Monday nights.....September is so far away :)

In the past seven months that Jeff and I've been engaged, so many wonderful things have happened to us. One of the most amazing is the overwhelming gratitude we have for so many people. We are so blessed with wonderful family and friends who have given so much during these wedding preparation months. It's completely humbling to have so many people pamper us during this joyful event. Jeff and I have talked how lucky we are to have so many wonderful friendships and people who care for us.

Evidence #1: Saturday afternoon, I was treated to bridal pampering by Missy, Kelly, and Michelle! We started out at the Max Aveda Salon in Bloomington. The four of us transformed our toes with Colorful Years, Digeradoo Your Nails, Suzy Loves Sydney, and An Affair with Red Square. I was decked out in a pink feather boa and sparkle crown too! We enjoyed many laughs and conversation while enjoying relaxing, spa pedicures. From there, we went to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Yummy! They showered me with many beautiful gifts; Victoria and I are well acquainted now! I also got many little things to be used on the big day to keep me looking beautiful a carry a little Luck of the Irish! Thanks, girls! It was such a fun afternoon!

Evidence #2: Friday morning, my 2nd grade team (Rick, Karen, Chrissy) and my former Kindergarten team (Jenny & Debbie) hosted a bridal breakfast in my honor. The staff came to celebrate my upcoming wedding with a wedding shower! I can't tell you how many bridal showers and baby showers I've gone to in my nine years and it was finally my turn! They made such delicious food and decorated with my colors--everything was amazing! We received a generous gift card from Crate and Barrel--love that store!!

Evidence #3 on: Read previous entries about all the showers and things people have been doing for us! We're so blessed!

Thanks to everyone for your cards, phone calls, offers to help, coming to showers, all your gifts and excitement for our big day! 40 days and we can't wait!! Of course, there's lots to get done before then and now. Speaking of, time to work on some thank you notes. Have a great week!

{girls will rule the world}

In five and a half years, the kindergarten classes will be overflowing with girls!

My friend Michele welcomed baby Grace into the world today! She weighed 8lbs. 14 oz. and was 21 inches long. I'm so happy for Michele! Her and I taught together for years, before she moved to CA this past summer. For years, we sat through wedding showers and baby showers for colleagues and friends. Well, finally it's our time! She married Bill and welcomed Grace and I'm marrying Jeff. They were well worth the wait, Michele!

Also, our friends Tony and Erin welcomed twin girls Audrey and Brianna on May day! They weighed in at 4lb 9oz and 4 lb. 3oz. The family of 4 is home and adjusting to life with the new little sweethearts.

So, of the 8 babies that were born since February, seven were girls and one boy. Maggie, Molly, Annika, Emma, Audrey, Brianna and Grace you might hope there are some boys in your neighborhoods. Otherwise, Jayden your odds are looking good!

Beyond the world of baby news, I finished my binder for the Distinguished Educator Program I'm in through my district. This was year two for me and lots of reflections, but I'm ALL DONE! I'm turning it in tomorrow and celebrating the completion (not sure that celebration will be, maybe just a YIPPEE!)

This Saturday, I was showered with a Month-by-Month bridal shower! Each person was assigned a different month and gave me a gift corresponding to that time or season. Everyone was very creative and I received so many wonderful gifts, once again! Thanks to my sister Sara and Auntie for putting on such a special event in my honor. It was so fun! Baby Emma also made it at only a week and a half old--she was the hit of the party! Here she is with Molly and Ellie taking good care of her!

In other news, Kristi is in the finals for DWTS!!

Tomorrow, it's kickball and Thursday night I'm going to see Cabaret at the Ordway thanks to free tickets from Kelly R! Friday morning, my school staff is throwing a shower for me and then we are on a field trip to the MN Center for Book Arts. It seems like events for the week are well taken care of!

Yummm, this is what I enjoyed yesterday for lunch from my Room Parents in honor of Teacher Appreciation week.The Oriental Chicken Salad from Applebees is the best!

I have to say, this week was by far the most recognition we've gotten for TA week. The PTO outdid themselves--brought around breakfast on Monday morning, gifts cards on Tuesday at the staff meeting, lasagna lunch on Thursday, and a potted plant on Friday.

My kids also got into the festvities with flowers, cookies, a gift card to Michaels, and a personalized ceramic car bank. It's supposed to be a vacation fund for Jeff and I--cute! My desk looked like Christmas all over!

All weekend long! We were booked solid this weekend, but we enjoyed many wonderful events!

*They swept them! The Twins swept the Tigers this weekend. Jeff and I had the pleasure of being at two of those three games. Unfortunately, we weren't at today's terrific comeback, but nonetheless, we saw two great games Friday and Saturday nights. Friday night, we sat in one of the terrace suites--yowzers! Jeff got tickets so we enjoyed free food and drinks along with the leather seats and private bathroom. We both won prizes during the 7th inning stretch--a t-shirt and hat. Lots of fun! Last night, we were back to the blue seats, but we could actually see and hear more. Either way, we cheered our Twins with our first visit of the 2008 season!

*Saturday we started the day by going to apply for our marriage license! It was kind of crazy seeing my new name written! Then, I went to pick up my mom to go to my shower at Merle's house. Chrissy and Merle put on a beautiful shower for all my school friends. They worked so hard and it was a wonderful event--the food, decor, games, gifts, and wonderful friends. I am truly blessed to work with such wonderful people and call friends! They've been with me from the beginning of my teaching career (9 years ago!) and are here to celebrate with me as I've finally found the love of my life! Thanks to all of you!

After the shower, we headed back down to the Metrodome for the Twins game. I love baseball season--GO TWINS!

*Today we went to church, met my parents for breakfast at Byerlys, and went to EP Center for some wedding things. This afternoon, I took two of my girls bowling. One of the girl's parents bid on bowling with me at the school auction. She got to pick a friend to go along, so that's what we did this afternoon. Unfortunately, the winner forgot all about it and showed up an hour into it. We stayed a little longer so they could enjoy their time together. Jeff was making dinner when I got home and then we went for a walk around the lake. Since he left, I've been doing laundry, took a bath, and finally pained my toe nails. I'm optimistic spring might stick around this week!

*Tomorrow, it's Grand Friends Day and Book Fair at school and then a meeting with the liturgy director and dinner with the Bennie Babes. Another fast one!
